Android phones have the ability to create backups of SMS messages. These backups are stored on Google Drive, which is free for Google One users. You can view the content of these backups by logging in to your Google Drive account. You can also manually trigger SMS backups from the Settings menu. However, this method is less convenient than dedicated SMS backup apps. You can’t copy messages as easily. Also, SMS backups created in this way don’t include MMS media.
Android phone
If you want to back up your SMS messages on your Android phone, there are several options. You can download SMS Backup & Restore from the Google Play Store, or you can use a service like Dropbox or OneDrive. Then, you can back up your SMS messages to a file and email it to yourself.
To do this, connect your Android phone to your computer via a USB cable. Once your phone is connected, you can select the text messages you want to back up. Then, you can choose an exporting icon to transfer them to a computer. Now, you can look through the files on your computer to see which ones are important to you.
You can also manually save text messages from your Android phone to your computer. To do this, go to the app you use to send and receive messages. If the deleted text is on the SD card, this step is skipped. Next, link your Google Drive account to the app. Once you have done this, the “Backup” button will become active. After that, click on “Auto backup” and choose a frequency.
If you want to read your SMS conversations, you can go to the app drawer to access your saved messages. Android phones save their SMS conversations on their SD cards. This is a default setting. If you change your SIM card, you won’t be able to see the saved messages. You can manually move them to the SD card if necessary.
Using SMS Backup & Restore is another great option. With this app, you can back up SMS, MMS, and call logs. It’s completely free to use, but you’ll need to connect your phone to Google’s cloud storage service. It’s also important to understand that backups are only stored on Google Drive, so older backups will be deleted eventually and won’t be restored on your phone.

SD card
